 We
also fund a Non-Governmental Organization called Lungnak
Youth Assocaiation at Raru Zanskar,
which is a registered organization. Our association is a vital
force and extremely important for the people of Lungnak valley.
All members of the Youth association are volunteers and are doing
a lot of good social work in the region.
This NGO also operates a school called Jamyangling Model School with all the needed facilities. Established in 1994 it was named by H.H. The Dalai Lama in 1993. Situated at a beautiful locale in Raru it is being funded by Shambhala Tours & Meditation, Germany who have been exteremely kind to extend us this support.
We would like to take this opportunity to request

The
school is functioning efficiently and has 200 students of which
94 are boarding students. It has classes upto the 8th grade.
It has a Managing Commmittee and 10 teachers including a Head
Master. We are members of the Lungnak Youth Association,
Managing Committee and all of us at Zanskar
are very grateful and give our sincere thanks to all the members
of Shambhala Tours & Meditation for promoting
modern education in Zanskar Valley.
