Our Project - Cleaning - Zanskar
To renovate and preserve the presently damaged Stupas (Chorten) and
Mani walls in the region we take our groups on Traditional Cultural
programs where we show them the work we are trying to do. We also
have appointed 3 to 4 people from Zanskar to clean up the plastics
and cans etc left at our camp sites and elsewhere throughout the route
taken by tourists, trekkers and groups from Dharcha to Lamayuru. This
is our effort at trying to keep our part of the Himalayas clean and
pollution free.
Our workers will start work from the first week of
June to the end of September every year. We would like to request
all Travel and Adventure Touragencies and tour guides to take extra
care
of not allowing littering at their campsites and on any routes they
are taking while leading groups into the Western Himalayas.
If you like to make any kind of donations please
do so in the name of Himalayan Cultural Presentation Center.
If you need more information, please do contact.
